Stiga Supreme Table Tennis Racket Review

The Stiga Supreme is one of many table tennis rackets made by Swedish company Stiga – one of the world’s leading table tennis brands. They have a popular range of five premade rackets that are also ITTF approved, which means they are able to be used in competitions.

The Stiga Supreme is sold on Amazon.com for $42.97. This places it along with the Stiga Apex and Stiga Titan on the cheaper side of premade rackets. Stiga created this bat for novice players who have started getting serious about their game. It is a well-rounded bat with average performance.

The Stiga Supreme is the third fastest premade racket by Stiga with the Evolution and Pro Carbon in front of it.

The Review

Facts

The Stiga Supreme comes with a 2mm sponge, 6-ply extra light blade with tube technology, and Stiga’s unique Crystal Technology that hardens the surface of the blade resulting in increased speed.

The racket has Stiga’s “Future” rubber glued to the super lightweight 6-ply blade in an inverted fashion. This means the pimpled side of the rubber is glued to the rest of the paddle and smooth side is what contacts the ball. The Supreme is extremely lightweight and at only 4.6 ounces and this is very noticeable for players that are used to heavier paddles.

Our Opinion

The Stiga Supreme is definitely a leap forward compared to the Stiga Titan but we still find it lacks in performance. This rubber quite disappointing compared to the Premium grade rubbers of more expensive STIGA rackets. But what can you expect when buying a non-premium?

The weight, sponge and rubber combination are ideally for chopping, backspin, and service return as well as having good control. This makes it a decent choice for a defensive-minded player.

You can expect to have to change the rubbers on the Stiga Supreme pretty quickly if you want to continue improving your game. That racket itself is decent, but the rubbers are sub-par.

Other Options

The Stiga Supreme is a decent novice racket that will help you improve as a player. The performance of the racket is decent but the rubbers are a whole other story. Don’t expect to keep this racket that long, though. We recommend investing in a higher quality foundation racket to last you longer.

Palio Expert 2 Table Tennis Racket Review Image

Instead, we recommend getting the Palio Expert 2. It is our favorite beginner racket and will provide you more playing time as you advance while not having to swap rackets. It’s also cheaper than the Stiga Supreme with greater quality rubber and sponge. Have a look at our review here.
