In this post, we will be reviewing the Joola Inside Table Tennis Table, weighing up the pros and cons of buying one and making a few other suggestions. It is our hope that after reading this, you will find it much easier to decide whether this table is right for you.
Before we get into the review, we recommend you check out Ben’s popular article, The Best Table Tennis Tables, for a comprehensive look at everything you should consider before buying a table tennis table.

Joola Inside Table Tennis Table
In this review, we will be looking at the following factors…
- Customer Satisfaction
- Final Word
The Joola Inside Table Tennis Table features a playing top surface of 15mm, separate folding halves for easy setup and a powder coated metal frame with 1.5 inch diameter steel legs that have stabilizers for a solid foundation even on uneven playing surfaces. It has a playback feature (meaning you can put half of the table up to hit against – if you want to). And it can also be stored away very compact.
The surface is comprised of professional grade MDF material. With the quality table top surface you can expect consistent bounces throughout play. This table is shaping up well so far.
15mm Table Top
The weakness we saw with this table is the thickness of its playing surface. 15mm is really on the thinner side of tables and as such you can expect the ball to play slower and the bounce to lack height as compared to play on a thicker table.
Ben talk’s a lot more about the importance of table thickness in his comprehensive article The Best Table Tennis Tables but, in short, competition tables are 25mm thick and you really need a table to be 19mm thick in order to get a “decent” bounce.
If you are just looking for a table to use for a bit of fun, recreational table tennis, and maybe a bit of training here and there, then getting the Joola Inside Table Tennis Table would be a good choice. However, if you are used to playing on “proper” tables, or planning on learning how to play table tennis at a club or perhaps playing competitively, then a 15mm table might not meet your standards.
The Joola Inside Table Tennis Table is definitely on the lighter side of tables, weighing in at a mere 137 pounds. This provides easy mobility for the table.
With a 15mm composite playing top, 1.5-inch steel diameter legs for extra support and a powder coated undercarriage finish to prevent rust you can expect this table to last over the years. It is a very versatile table that allows playback and can be transported easily.
The downside to its construction are some reports of table warping at high heat and humidity, which is common due to its composite table top composition. If you are looking to get this table have a cool and dry place ready to store it for it to last.
Coming in at $380.94 the Joola Inside Table Tennis Table is right up there as one of the best quality value tables on the market. Joola were really able to capture the low-mid value and give you a great price to go along with it.
There are basically two downsides to the Joola Inside Table Tennis Table. The first would be the thickness of the playing top. At 15mm it is quite thin and will not offer competition play. The second would be the net that comes with the table. Everyone gets a bit annoyed when they play with a lower quality net and if you do as well we recommend also purchasing a higher grade net along with this table.
3. Customer Satisfaction
The reviews of customers on Amazon have all been good. Here are a few for you to see…
“Table is sturdy, stable and built to last…If you’re in the market for an affordable, well-designed, and easy to assemble table which should provide years of enjoyment, look no further.”
“The table comes in two parts so is very easy to bring into a basement. The boys have been playing on it for several hours a day, with their friends and so far there have been no issues at all. we love it and would recommend it to anyone who wants a indoor table.”
“It was very easy to setup, it’s good quality with solid parts and the bounces are true. I can’t think of much else I’d want in a table.”
Is this table right for you?
If you want a recreational table…
Buying the Joola Inside Table Tennis Table would be a great idea. It is a good under $400 choice coming in at $380.94. For a little more, though, you could get the Stiga Advantage Table Tennis Table which has better reviews and comes in at $399.00 – the best value table under $400.
If you are a serious player looking for a table…
The Joola Inside Table Tennis Table won’t be a good choice for you. You’ll need to invest in a table with at least a 22mm playing surface – and that is going to be a fair bit more expensive.
Our favourite 22mm table, at a reasonable price, is the Butterfly Match 22 Rollaway. For roughly $850 you can buy a high-performance table from the leading brand in table tennis. That’s twice the price of the basic Stiga Advantage, though.
5. Final Word
The Joola Inside Table Tennis Table is up there as one of the best value tables under $400. If you don’t mind the slower play and lower bounce it is a good choice.
However, we think investing in a little bit more with the Stiga Advantage Table Tennis Table would be the far better choice.
You can buy the Joola Inside Table on Amazon for $380.94
- But we recommend getting the Stiga Advantage Table for $399.00
